TiLab membership is available to UIC students, faculty, staff, researchers, alumni, and community members. Startup companies can apply to become a tenant or affiliate. Solo entrepreneurs can apply for an individual membership.
Leases in TiLab are typically for 1-year. Renewal is based on company progress and the continued need for incubation services. The typical incubation period is 3 to 5 years.
Tenants at TiLab have full access to the tools and resources needed to create new ventures with social and economic impact. Applicants must be an early stage, technology based company with a valid tax ID. Company must be financially solvent with a plan to raise sufficient capital.
Applicants must have (or wish to have) an active relationship with UIC.
The TiLab Affiliate Program is a pre-incubation program for early stage startup companies. The program is designed to help inventors and entrepreneurs gain access to TiLab’s services with the goal of becoming a tenant.
To be considered for the affiliate program, applicants must be a technology-based, for-profit business and have a real need for the services offered through TiLab.
TiLab also offers individual memberships to solo entrepreneurs, contract workers, or professionals who are working remotely.
To be considered for an individual membership, applicants must be working for or starting a for-profit, technology-based business and have a real need for the services offered through TiLab. Applicants involved in a research or technology-related professional opportunity will also be considered.
